Would anyone be kind enough to tell me how long it took to receive a diagnosis of cancer from first seeing your GP? I appreciate all waits in this situation are hard.

I went to a routine screening mammogram on a Thursday lunchtime. I received a call on the Friday morning to attend a follow-up scan & biopsy on Monday. So two working days.

I saw a consultant surgeon 18 days after that, and had surgery after another 23 days. So 43 days from the routine mammogram to being discharged after surgery.

That was three years ago, during covid, so I suspect they were quite quiet. I've just completed treatment.

Thank you for taking the time to write that. I hope it did not bring back too awful memories . I am so glad you have finished treatment. I wish you well.

Depends a lot on what kind/ where the suspected cancer is.

Thank you. It's been quite a wait.
