Potentially terminal cancer - birthday coming up

My friend was recently diagnosed with stage 4 unknown primary cancer and started chemo a week ago. Her birthday is in 3 weeks and thinking to do something special for her together with a small group of friends. Have no idea how to approach. She is currently in a lot of pain and can't walk. Would love some advice based on a similar experience.

How tired is she? Am assuming anything will need to be at her house due to her pain and mobility. I'd also guess any event will need to be fairly short as she will get very fatigued and probably be too polite to tell you.

On the other hand she might be thrilled to have her friends round drinking prosecco into the small hours.

So I'd be guided by her and what she fancies.

Thsbk you - Really hard to know what she will be like in 3 weeks. She was discharged from hospital yesterday after 5 days to try and manage her pain. She is tired now... Will need to be at her house and short, I agree.
