Cyst that couldn't be drained

Had my routine mammogram last week, the radiologist looked at it and noticed a cyst in my left breast, he did an ultrasound on the same day. He seemed fairly confident that it was just a cyst. I was told to come back this morning and it would be drained. I was back at the clinic today and the cyst couldn't be drained, nothing came out. A biopsy was taken and results were sent away and I will find out next week what the outcome is. Anyone else have a cyst the couldn't be drained and had to wait for biopsy results. Radiologist seemed fairly confident it isn't anything serious,can they really tell. Really worried 😟 it will be a long week.

They can get a reasonably good idea from how it looks on the images but good they are being cautious and doing all the tests. Good luck

Yes I did. The radiologist was sure it was an ‘oil cyst’ but it wouldn’t drain. They took a biopsy instead and it came back benign. I still have the cyst, it’s never gone and this was years ago now. Good luck.
