Hi Everyond,

My Sister had a CT scan with contrast and gets her results tomorrow which has been booked in as a phone call. Can they still give bad results over the phone? Surely they cannot do this. If it is bad news would they not arrange a face to face appointment?

Well ideally, but it's unlikely they would know the results already at the time the appointment was booked. Try and be with het when she takes the call if you can in case?

They wouldn't know the results on booking the appointment. They may tell her to come in if it's anything more complicated than a 'nothing to see here'.

Depends. My neurologist initially told me I had a tumour over the phone (we were both quite surprised by it!) but I was called in in person by oncology for an inconclusive follow up scan. That was originally a phone appt.

Tell her not to jump to conclusions if she is asked to come in.

Hope it goes well xx
