Nhs negligence claim

Anyone willing to share there story on medical negligence claims please?
How long did it take? Bit of a back story? Was it settled in or out of court and how much did you receive?
My dad was misdiagnosed with cancer, he went through surgery, radio and chemo as a result, he was very very poorly and ended up passing away after he passed we found out he didn't have cancer at all, just a infection which could of easily been treated with antibiotics. We are currently doing a no win no fee claim and waiting for a letter of response from nhs, and the solicitor is just on the stage of calculating our claims worth. Any money we may receive will be going to a charity very close to our hearts.

I’m so sorry for your loss, I don’t have much advice but I didn’t want to read and run

I'm three years in and every indication is that my claim (not cancer related) for misdiagnosis and unnecessary treatment will be settled out of court for what seems to me like a ridiculous amount of money!

I'm not actually bothered about the money. I would have preferred to be treated properly in the first place rather than being shouted at, intimidated, and dismissed by a registrar who knew he had screwed up and was hoping to cover his tracks so his Head of Department would not find out.

@Anon35x you might get more useful input if you ask MN to move this to Legal Matters.

I am sorry for everything you have all been through. 💐

This is awful, I’m so sorry to hear this. What’s your breach of duty evidence say? The nhs can be slow to settle, but they will. This is a case breach will be proven. Hang in there xxx
