Well that’s a relief! I’m so pleased for you. (Rotten that you have and scarring. Probably gives you achey tum, but that’s the least of your worries now.)

spiderlight · 30/09/2024 13:28

Good news on the abdo scan - sorry you had to worry about it but count this as a win now.

Catunderling · 30/09/2024 13:42

That's good news, one step out of the way!

ThorndonCream · 30/09/2024 14:06

That is good news about the abdomen scan. I haven't posted on your thread before but I remember reading your post when you first got the news and had been thinking about you. I'm in New Zealand. Probably people all across the world have been hoping for good news for you. Waiting is just awful. My son had a very different type of cancer as a teenager and the wait to find out he was going to be okay following surgery was agonising for us all.

Thanks everybody. Anyone got a good light hearted funny pod cast recommendations?
Listening to oh my dog at the moment I usually like parenting hell. Nothing to deep just silly funny ones x

French & Saunders “Titting about” - 5 series that are free if you have Audible, they chat about different subjects in each episode and their lives etc… I’ve cried laughing at these during my cancer treatment even when I was in hospital feeling completely rubbish (luckily I was isolated🥴). Sending you hugs 🤗

TroysMammy · 30/09/2024 16:02

For a giggle fest I listen to Help! I Sexted My Boss, William Hanson and Jordan North.

spiderlight · 30/09/2024 16:05

The Infinite Monkey Cage is good - lighthearted (and usually very funny) discussion of various science topics with Brian Cox and Robin Ince. There are millions of them available on all sorts of topics.

NewSchoolYearRevamp · 30/09/2024 16:09

Brew with the Bennett’s is good. It’s a comedian and his wife chatting and they are really down to earth. The husband, Scott Bennett, has been on the parenting hell podcast.
keeping everything crossed for you OP.

wrongthinker · 30/09/2024 16:42

Sending love. Hope you get sleep and answers, and in the meantime find things to distract you. Make sure you get lots of hugs from your friends, parents, DH and kids at every opportunity.

Coruscations · 30/09/2024 16:49

Try "The Rest is Entertainment". It's not silly, but it's really interesting about everything that goes on in the entertainment world.

ArabellaScott · 30/09/2024 16:53

I can't do podcasts myself, but here is a list of 50 funny ones:

Aworldofmyown · 30/09/2024 16:56

I like 'Listen Bitch' with Lily Allen and Miquita Oliver. It doesn't require concentration!

Fraaahnces · 30/09/2024 17:03

My daughter just sent me Trixie and Katya reacting to Kath & Kim. I think it was twice as funny for me because I’m an Aussie and grew up with the actresses from Kath & Kim in other roles… they’re so clever.

DopeyS · 30/09/2024 17:09

The Off menu Menu podcast with James Acaster and Ed Gamble is really funny. Loads of different people and choosing their perfect menu. Ardal ohanlon was brilliant as was Joe Wilkinson. Hope you're feeling ok.

Sugargliderwombat · 30/09/2024 18:12

Definitely my dad wrote a porno. Had me crying with laughter for hours!

DCINightingale · 30/09/2024 18:56

Three Bean Salad is brilliant, light hearted nonsense and absolutely hilarious

Wells37 · 30/09/2024 19:14

Thank you I think I will need them tonight. I stupidly started googling again and the nurse said my name isn't on the mdt list but they have emailed my information over. My husbands coming back in now. No dr around to talk to. My arm seems to be getting more numb

Podcast suggestion:
It's a Fair Cop. Radio 4. Very funny and an easy listen. I save it for emergency pick me ups.

I also have a good list of funny silly books/authors too.

The Sweet Sweet Revenge Company
We are all made of glue
The Restraint of Beasts
The Little Old Lady behaving badly

and anything by the same authors. You might be able to get audio books if you prefer.
Also, I have a Bluetooth sleep mask from Amazon and I listen to the Calm App and their sleep stories on it.

Thinking of you. X

I really enjoy Katherine Ryan’s telling everybody everything, and also My therapist Ghosted me.
Glad your abdo scan came back healthy :)

winewolfhowls · 30/09/2024 20:12

It's a fair cop is brilliant!

Sending some more hugs your way, and hope your dh brought you some decent food

Drivingmecrazydizzy · 30/09/2024 20:23

Nothing to share to cheer you up but just wanted to send you the biggest hugs 🤗 xx

Needapadlockonmyfridge · 30/09/2024 20:24

I am so glad your abdo scan result was good.

Lots of great podcast suggestions above .

Another vote for It's a Fair Cop. Brilliant.

I would also venture a vote for Cabin Pressure if that is currently available on BBC Sounds. My go to when I need cheering up.

I hope you get an update soon xx

Gagaandgag · 30/09/2024 21:09

I always watch motherland when I need cheering up. Thinking of you op

LiesDoNotBecomeUs · 01/10/2024 01:16

Cabin Pressure -John Finnimore
Maureen Lipman kept us laughing in hospital often!

Hope you get a better night.
