Will you be talking to the doctors today OP ? Will they have some results for you ?

Ineffable23 · 28/09/2024 06:39

Hey OP, hopefully you get a bit more information today. Do you have any headphones with you, maybe you could use audible (or borrowbox, my library uses it for free audiobooks) so you've got some stuff to fill your brain up with?

Well done for getting through the night, I think being stuck on your own with your brain and it going off just thinking things uncontrollably is probably the one of the hardest things about situations like this.

merrymelodies · 28/09/2024 06:45

Well done for being so brave! Thinking of you and wishing you the best possible outcome. Flowers

MuchuseasaChocolateTeapot · 28/09/2024 07:08

What an awful time for you and your family. Waiting for test results is the worst kind of torture and I’m sorry you are going through this.

I guess my only advice is to keep yourself as distracted as possible, if at all possible. Audiobook, movie, crossword, go for a walk. Anything to make time pass until you know more. Also take anything they offer to help you sleep.

I really hope you get better news today x

Emdubz70 · 28/09/2024 07:17

Good morning OP. Thinking of you. I’ve not been in your position but imagine I would also be on Google despite knowing it is not helpful. Try and distract yourself as best you can. The only thing that fully distracts me is reading which takes me into a different world for a while. Wishing for the best outcome for you xx

ArabellaScott · 28/09/2024 07:54

Hope you get seen soon, OP.

Yousay55 · 28/09/2024 08:18

Easier said than done, but try not to google anything as it won’t help and only add to your worries.
listen to every positive story of hope and healing and take one day at a time. Medicine, research and technology is constantly improving.
Sending all the love and positive wishes to you.

PatchworkSilver · 28/09/2024 08:29

Another person wishing the very best outcome for you x

San141 · 28/09/2024 08:37

Just wanted to send you love and positive thoughts. My daughter was diagnosed with a brain tumour when she was 13. She's been in remission for 13 years now. If you ever want to talk, feel free to message xx

glittereyelash · 28/09/2024 12:41

Sending you so much love and hoping for the best possible outcome for you and your family ❤️

Catunderling · 28/09/2024 14:53

Just sending strength, OP and pushing the Google ban! Honestly, you don't know the type or grade or operability so no point going down rabbit holes xx even when you do, it's best to stick to very specific sources and info from your clinicians as every patient is different.

audiobooks are fab though, especially if you've got someone/ a pet to cuddle for part of it. Unless you've been told differently, or it doesn't work for you symptoms wise, it might help to try and stay a bit active, even if just a few stretches. I found it really helps with anxiety as well as circulation etc

withalittlebitofhelp · 28/09/2024 23:15

Hope You’re maybe back home now OP.

lucylulululu · 29/09/2024 00:33

Thinking of you OP and truly hope the results are benign 🤞💐

Wingingit11 · 29/09/2024 15:37

@Wells37 , I hope you are ok

OhBeAFineGuyKissMe · 29/09/2024 17:35

Thinking of you and sending well wishes.

Wells37 · 29/09/2024 19:33

Still in hospital. They found a 6cm fluid mass in my pelvis so waiting for a scan tomorrow morning. Not the best news just hoping it's just a cyst

I know how hard it is not to worry, but try to deal only with what you KNOW. When your mind wanders, bring yourself back to this - make up a mantra if necessary - and do some deep breathing.

I think not knowing is the most scary part, so this is obviously terrifying. But it could be benign, it could be treatable. Not all brain tumours are cancerous, and many can be removed and/or treated. Try not to let your mind leap ahead.

Is your user name indicative of where you live?

Sounds like a cyst, fingers crossed for you.

Hopefully it's just a cyst. Everyone on this thread is thinking of you and wishing you the best outcome.

It's a torturous wait but please, please wait until you know what type of tumour you have and whether they can operate and what treatments they can offer. There are many different types of brain tumour and they all have different prognoses. I can't stress this enough: everyone's case is different. You can't tell what type of brain tumour you have by your symptoms nor how treatable it is. Wait until you have the results from your clinicians and be guided by their advice.

I'm so sorry you're going through this. It's so so hard. I really hope your friend or another loved one is with you x

ArabellaScott · 29/09/2024 20:02

It must be very hard to wait. Things should move quicker tomorrow, after the weekend. Hope you are managing to rest a little.

Wells37 · 29/09/2024 20:14

I've had visitors today and I'm watching endless episodes of friends to try and stay calm. I've been having lorazepam at night which takes the edge off. Thanks x

I’m sorry to hear what you’re going through. My SIL was diagnosed with breast cancer this year and her early scans showed ‘suspicious’ areas on her liver and lungs. But both turned out to be nothing. We don’t usually get scanned head to foot so we have no idea what odd (but completely harmless) things are inside us.

Another friend was told she had lung cancer and it turned out to be TB! It’s so difficult to wait for the diagnosis but until you’ve had a biopsy you won’t know anything for certain. Keep distracting yourself.

ArabellaScott · 30/09/2024 06:35

Hope you had an okay night.
