My partner had a mole removed 2 weeks ago (Ugly Duckiling) only mole he has ! They said it would take 6 weeks for results. Yesterday 2 weeks exactly after Biopsy they called to say he has to go in on Tuesday. We are so worried as he was told he would receive results by letter unless it comes back (C) he will need to go in and get more removed. Has anyone been in a similar situations and it has been for any other reason ? I have really bad health anxiety and worried sick 🤮 Thanks

My DH has had a few different skin cancers. In your partner’s case, the good news is it’s been found and they are quickly seeing him. My DH had a lentigo maligna on his face. They called him back very quickly and it’s all gone now and you can barely see a scar.

Oh really that’s good do hear ! How long did it take for him to hear back ? Did they take him in for results also ?x

You should be prepared that it's something.

It's not necessarily the big C but it's something that needs further treatment or they wouldn't have called you in, they would have sent a letter.

They will talk you through it step by step and if it was a biopsy before and the whole mole needs removed they might do it there and then.

Sorry if that doesn't help your anxiety over the weekend, but better to be prepared.

No I know it could be something , I was looking to see if anyone else had any other stories with it being something else …..

I’ve had melanoma a couple of times and also had what’s called a meltump (basically dodgy but not cancer) was called back for all of them so it could be one of those. It could also be a less dangerous non-melanoma skin cancer which might need cream or a wider margin taking around it.

Yes they called him back within two weeks, to have all of it removed and a clear margin.

Did you get results in follow up appointments also ? His mum has had skin cancer before (Not Melanoma) wondering if it could be genetic. Thanks for your help

DH had a pre cancerous blemish removed, followed by light therapy all over his head (bald) and face. Now they'll keep an eye on him.

Fingers crossed it's caught early and easily treated. Don't google!
