Bence-jones protein

These proteins have just shown up in my Mums urine. She has a horrible itch with no rash and is very tired. I'm waiting on hearing back from the Doctor, her bloods were sent to the hospital but they say they are all satisfactory.

Of course I've googled and that doesn't look good but can anyone help with their own experiences of these proteins please?

This is an outdated test that used to be done for a type of blood cancer (myeloma). As far as I am aware they tend not to use this for diagnosis anymore so not sure why the GP? did it.

Thank you, I have no idea either. I think it was because she has an unexplained, itch and high inflammation markers in the blood.
