Worried about a black mole

Hi, I wondered if anyone thought this mole could be cancerous. It's very black, got a GP appointment in 2 weeks but obviously very worried.

I very much doubt it. It's tiny and doesn't look cancerous at all. Skin melanomas tend to be uneven in shape, more than 6mm wide, a mix of two colours (brown and black)

Stop worrying.

I'm sure it'll be fine just make sure you remember the appointment.

Of if you have money you could see someone privately, sooner.

I guess it depends if it's turned black or was always black. I had a mole that turned dark and grew (although only to 3mm) but I knew it looked different to how it was previously as it was on my forearm. That turned out to be early melanoma so if you are worried check it out, the gp can either reassure you or refer you.
Private around here is about 6 weeks to see a dermatologist so NHS is actually quicker.

I've had skin cancer before which was a smaller black dot. This is raised uneven and simular to the last one. They tend to be 6mm wide but can be smaller. So no I can't just stop worrying

When zoomed in you can see it looks raised and uneven, I will keep my fingers crossed for you, please keep us updated, wishing you all the best x

Hi @Lawjane112 I’m really sorry I know your thread is a few months old now. But I’m just wondering how you are? I’ve got a mole that looks exactly like the one in your photos.
Mine was brown and now it is very dark, almost black coloured now. It’s about the same size and shape as yours was. I’m really worried 🙁.
