Hi I’m in need of some help. I recently had a CT scan due to ovarian pain and they picked up some breast thickening on my left breast lower left quartrant. The breast and another doctor felt around my breast and found nothing but sent me in a 2 week referrals which had been 4 weeks now. I’m extremely nervous and feel like the month has been a complete Blair. I try not to worry as I always check my breast and found nothing. I am peri menopausal also no history of breast cancer in the family. My mum was prone to cysts in her breasts also although I’m not sure if a lesion and a cyst are the same.
thank-you😍

Hey, I think a possible auto correct in your thread title has meant people haven’t looked at your post.

Have you chased this? I am sure it needs to be 2 weeks or very near to that. The worry for that long must be awful.

I am in a similar position but without the awful wait. I went to the GP on Monday with a strange spot/lump on my breast. She initially said she was going to refer me immediately, but then said try antibiotics for a few days as it is probably a cyst, but to go back tomorrow morning so that she can get a referral in before the weekend if needed. The antibiotics have done nothing at all, so I am hoping for some improvement overnight tonight.

Hi I’ve think my phone has auto corrected a few things. Thankyou for replying-I hope your anti biotic works for you. It is such a worry. I’m peri menopause and it’s one thing after another. I have no lumps that I can feel also my doctor checked twice and felt nothing. It was picked up slight breast thickness on a CT scan of my abdomen. So they said they would refer for a check. Although they said they felt nothing concerning the wit has been awful. I got the appointment for next Friday so waited a month.
it sounds very like you may have a cyst. Though I understand your worries it as if I can’t focus and your mind slips to the what ifs. I hope your doctor can reassure you.

Oh having your appointment must be such a relief! Just a week to wait now, fingers crossed for you.

I am just back from the GP and have been referred as the lump has doubled in size, still only small though. She said I should receive the letter within 2 weeks and to come back or go to A&E if it gets more painful or dramatically bigger.

I am clinging to the stat I read that just 7% of breast clinic referrals result in a cancer diagnosis, so I think you should too. I ran this past the GP to check it is accurate, those are amazingly good odds!

Im so glad you have been referred to for peace of mind also- it did take 4 weeks for my referral but it was done through the hospital so might have taken a while. I think all changes in breasts have to be a 2 week time scale. My breast are always sore at certain times of the month and when the don’t the CT scan I had just taken a period my hopes would be it would be hormone related.
I did read that also and try so hard to keep that in mind. I really hope you get sen soon and it may just go down by that time. I hope you hear soon.
