I am 37 weeks pregnant.. I was surprised tonight by the appearance of this lump under my armpit and when I touch it I feel pain... I am afraid it is cancer.. And now we are at the end of the week, I cannot get examined by the doctors... Has the same happened to any of you? Thank you

Ii wouldn't worry too much about it looks like an infected cyst or a boil. Go to the Dr as soon as you can and they will give you some antibiotics. Whatever you do don't try and squeeze it you definitely do not want the infection spreading.

Agree with above poster. Have a warm, salt bath if you can stand it and don’t pick.

Much more likely to be a boil or ingrowing hair, make sure you see the doctor, as you're pregnant you don't want to poke or mess around with it as it risks spreading an infection.

Thank you , It's weekend so no clinic is open and I'm very scared.

Can you explain to me more about the method? Thanks 🙏🏻

Ingrown hair I think. Most skin cancers don't hurt but get it checked out if it's still there in a week.

Thank you for making me feel at ease.

I'd say highly, highly likely to be an abscess/boil. I've had one in my armpit that looked exactly like this...it looks like it has a head brewing on it. As previous posters have said try a hot compress to draw it out (don't squeeze it ir you could push the infection deeper) or get some magnesium sulphate paste to try and draw it out.

RickyGervaislovesdogs · 03/08/2024 20:25

Warm salt bath would draw any infection to the surface, so it’ll pop on its own (well hopefully- no picking). It’ll ease the pressure, drawing any pus out. Might take awhile. Go to the Gp next week if you are still worried.

It does look like a boil or ingrown hair. I get them quite often. Like PPs have said, a hot cloth pressed on it should alleviate the pain and eventually draw anything that's in there to the surface.

I understand that it's scary if you've not had one before but try not to worry ❤️

I had exactly this last weekend. it was really quite painful for a couple of days and has now gone away with no intervention required.

This exactly I seem to plagued with them now almost 60. Hot flannel or hold the shower head directly over it when you shower could help it burst on its own but don’t squeeze it.
