CT scan after biopsy?

My Mum is currently undergoing cancer investigation which I have previously posted about. Her symptoms are feeling as though something is stuck in throat, choking on food, coughing up 'phlegm', losing weight and 2 lumps on her neck.
Firstly she has an ultrasound on the lumps, they then referred for biopsy which was 2 weeks ago and she's currently waiting for results. Today she had a call off radiology department saying they want to see her for a CT scan on neck. Would this indicate that they have found something in biopsy and not told her yet?

Sometimes things aren’t clear and need further investigation. Hopefully she gets a date through for a scan soon and gets some answers

My mum was diagnosed with breast-cancer and before her mastectomy had chest x-rays. She was called back for an urgent CT scan because 'something' had shown up on the x-rays. It was really worrying but turned out to be nothing at all. I hope your mum's CT scan is reassuring news.

Thank you both. It just seems crazy to me that if this CT scan has is being done because something has shown up in the biopsy she hasn't been told about it before being told she has to have the scan, if that makes any sense?
It's so worrying and it's like torture waiting to find out.

Hi, sorry I am only just getting back to you I've been all over the place.
Sadly, she has been diagnosed with cancer Sad they found cancer in the lymph nodes on the neck so now are trying to find the primary location of the cancer. This week she has had a CT scan, MRI scan and an operation today to take more biopsies of the throat and remove her tonsils. The consultant came to see her after surgery today and said he thinks he has found the cancer which is lower down than they thought and if he's right it will mean she has to be transferred to a different team. He will call her on Monday with the results. So I'm now pretty sure that it's oesophageal cancer Sad
I've been stupidly googling and terrified myself that she won't have much longer to live if it is because whatever cancer it is it has already spread to the lymph nodes SadSad
It's so worrying, I feel heartbroken.

I'm so sorry to read your update. It must be such a frightening and worrying time for you and your mum. All you can do is do your best to support her through it and you need someone who will support you. It's a horrible time and thing to go through. You have my sympathies and kindest thoughts for what that's worth. I really hope there is some good news about treatment options for your mum.

Thank you. She is due to get get results tomorrow for the biopsy they have taken in her throat (they only took it on Thursday!)
Although the consultant has said that he thinks he has found the tumour lower down than originally expected and therefore if he's right she will have to be transferred to another team. She is currently in the ENT team so from googling and her pointing at where they took the biopsy (she can feel it because it's sore) it's her oesophagus Sad
We should find out for definite tomorrow but I have this awful sinking feeling that it's going to be very bad news. I've had this sinking feeling for months now. It's exhausting Sad

Sorry I've just read my previous post and I'm basically just repeating myself Sad I feel like I'm just walking round in a daze and not quite functioning properly. Everything is blurry and when it's not it's terrifying.

You don't need to apologise- the worry and fear is awful. It wears away at you, obsesses you, lurks in every moment and can be terrifying- all the 'what if's. I really hope you get news that is so much better than you are fearing. Treatments are improving all the time and I hope they have some good options for your mum.
