Does anyone know if you have to be fully undressed during a mastectomy or can you now leave your bottom half dressed, as I have heard?

Hospital gown going into surgery. You can wear knickers

You will definitely be able to keep pants on. In my unit, we have specially adapted cotton scrub trousers that women can wear if they wish to as well. Ask at your pre-op.

Thank you.

Everything off, hospital paper knickers, gown.

I talked to my surgeon beforehand as I had terrible diarrhoea and was really worried about making a mess on the table! She was lovely. She said I could wear an incontinence pull up with an extra pad in it if I was really worried. So I wore hospital gown with a pull up.

If you have any concerns at all talk to your breast care nurse or surgeon in advance. They will have heard it all before and they are really helpful.
