My lovely Dad has been diagnosed with bowel cancer today. It is in nearly lymph nodes as well but all in one area.

I am really overwhelmed but thankful it hasn’t spread further.

Radiotherapy followed by an operation.

Absolutely terrified to be honest .

Please can I have a handhold.

Thank you for the handhold.

I think it’s stage four . It’s a long tumour apparently.
They are going to do intense radiotherapy for six weeks and then an operation is planned.

I feel numb to be honest but strangely relieved now we know as the wait has been horrendous.

Hi, I give you a hug and hand too. Keep him company, stay happy and positive. Can I ask what are the initial symptoms and how old is you dad?
Chat soon.

Hand hold here.
My lovely dad is stage 4 too. Currently responding INCREDIBLY well to immunotherapy. The chemo regime he had made him desperately unwell and his consultant took him off as he was close to death twice with sepsis and with a WBC so low it was practically zero.
His blood cancer markers are less than 10 now and his tumours have shrunk to the point that they’re not visible on the scans.
We know it will come back but he’s doing really well bar a bit of low magnesium.
Theres lots of amazing treatment available - i wish your dad well.

My father in law had stage 4 bowel cancer when he was 65, his diagnosis was missed a few times and had to be operated on straightaway as it was really bad. We saw him after his operation and to be honest he was seriously ill, with tubes coming out everywhere and had a colostomy bag fitted. He then had weekly radiotherapy for several weeks and got the all clear 6 months after and had the colostomy reversed. He lived another 21 years. This was 26 years ago and there has been great treatment improvement since, so I hope your DF gets a treatment plan sorted soon and hopefully fully recovers.
