Hello
My dad (61) has been referred for 2 week wait colonoscopy he is anaemic and has had bleeding for a long while. So worried this is cancer he's also had symptoms for a long time. I think his sample test was OK though. Is there a non cancer explanation for this and the anaemia?

I have nobody I can speak to about this (he doesn't even know I know) so just posting out to the ether really.

Does he take lansoprazole/Omeprazole?
Bleeding polyps
internal haemorrhoids
Diverticulitis
Also possible
Angiodysplasia
Angiodysplasia is abnormal blood vessels in the gastrointestinal tract, which can cause bleeding. This is more common in older people and can cause painless rectal bleeding.

Thank you for listing the other options. Will hopefully find out next week this is a load of nothing. Sending positivity to everyone on this board.
