Colonoscopy 2 ww - timescales?

Does anyone know how long after the initial referral does an appt come through for a colonoscopy to investigate bowel cancer? I know it's supposed to be within 2 weeks but just trying to gauge waiting times within that.

The referral was made on 6 July but I'm supposed to be going away 11-13 July and wondering if I should cancel my trip in case a letter and the preparation kit come whilst I am away?

Phone the relevant department at the hospital and explain. I have a family member who just went through this and they were very proactive at making sure he received everything he needed and that he would be home to collect it.

I had a colonoscopy last month. From referral to procedure it was 15 days.

I initially had a telephone appointment two days after referral with a nurse to go through my symptoms, my medical history and to give me information about the procedure.

This was followed a couple of days later by a call to arrange an appointment. I was sent my prep and further info through the post in plenty of time.

I hope that helps a little.
