10 days since biopsy

I'm hoping there might be experience in this group to help me manage the wait...!
It's been 10 days since I had a biopsy (breast and lymph glands) and I haven't heard anything. Secretaries have told me it's been referred from local hospital to a bigger hospital/cancer centre. I was expecting this. But I'm surprised I haven't had any contact about a follow up appointment. Is this normal?
Do I just have to wait and see.
I'm getting very anxious about it.

The biopsy may not yet be ready. I'm guessing you were seen in a breast clinic - what did they tell you about how they would share results and arrange follow up? Did they give you any indication from the examination/scans if they were worried?

They did say they were worried :(
Said I would get a phone call to arrange a follow up appointment in 7-10 days

It can take a while to analyse biopsies. Blood samples are mostly analysed on automated analysers, but biopsies are examined using a multi-stahe manual process, ending with a pathologist looking at it down a microscope. It could take another week or so. Have you got a contact / nurse you can ring for more info?

I'll follow up next week @Whatatodo79 I just don't want to be 'that patient' or feel like I'm being unrealistic about what to expect.

the results of the biopsy will be discussed at the mdt ( benign or malignant) so if the results become available and the mdt has been missed for that week then they will be discussed at the next mdt…..so it takes a bit longer for you to get them

I'm going to my follow-up appt on Thursday, also from an ultrasound for a breast biopsy. I know they had to discuss it at their weekly multidisciplinary team meeting today first before they could arrange an appointment, and they see everyone they biopsied apparently.
