Lump in mouth

I'm worried about a lump I have inside my cheek. It's been there for a while, it's not particularly painful most of the time, but is uncomfortable when I catch it or bite it by mistake.

Not quite sure what it is but after googling I worry there is a slight risk of cancer. Do I go to my GP or dentist? What will they do?

It's been there for a pretty long time and I know I should have had it checked earlier. But please reassure me everything will be ok?

You could have a cyst. You need to speak to a GP to get check up.

Your dentist is probably easier to see and will be more experienced at looking at mouth problems in the first instance.

I had this. I went to the dentist. They did refer me to the hospital who confirmed it wasn’t cancer. They ended up filing my teeth down a bit so I wouldn’t keep biting it.
