70 F. Feeling tired with no energy. Went for blood test. None existent iron count. No other symptoms apart from bloated stomach. No weight loss or blood in stools.

Only got blood results on Wednesday. now got colonscopy appointment for tomorrow,. Have Fiit test to send back.

Can this be anything other than cancer. Things are moving very fast

Just sending you a hug. A big squishy one.

You've got this. Seek support where you can. You're never on your own.

I'm sure it can be something other than cancer so don't panic. Good luck X

Unforgettablefire · 23/05/2024 21:05

I'm sure they do these tests to rule out the most serious stuff first don't they? I've had a few tests and been convinced they thought I had cancer I was beside myself, but no I think these tests are done routinely. I know how scary it is though, big hugs Op.

I'm sorry you've got this worry, OP. I had similar symptoms earlier in the year and had all sorts of investigations. I was convinced my cancer had come back but it turned out that my hiatus hernia had got much worse and I had severe gastritis. There are lots of other things that could be causing your symptoms so try not to worry, although I realise that's easier said than done.

Sending you love and hugs.

Apologies but I have been looking for a thread to post in but can’t see one.

My best friend (28) got diagnosed with lung cancer 3 years ago, she is now cancer free - with medication obviously. Had her breast removed, she actually wanted them both removed but was told she couldn’t as the second removal would be cosmetic - when really she was so terrified.

My second close circle friend (26) thyroid cancer - on her throat.

We all stuck together, we climbed the Yorkshire 3 peaks and I just want to spread a message of positivity in an awful circumstance as it doesn’t wait for no one or pick it’s victims. Big love and positivity xx

I haven’t spoken to anyone outside our group of friends and it’s been so emotional at times, and I feel so lucky ! I can’t describe it, but I feel the need to process the shock trauma and then thank god the bliss of being so lucky and educated to have them both here still xx

Yes, it could be dietary. You could have a benign polyp or haemorrhoids that bleed, diverticulitis. It's standard to have fiit test and scope, as much to exclude things.
Good luck tomorrow. Hope it comes down to needing iron supplements, but whatever the reason, its better to face it and sort it.

A couple of polyps found. Nothing sinister. What a relief.
Thank you all for your words of kindness.
