Two week wait..

I uploaded before but to cut a long story short I found a hard lump just over two weeks ago.

Had antibiotics, they didn't do anything and also waited to get past my period. Still nothing. It's there.

My private health isn't going to cover me, fine.

So, I went back to my GP and they have referred me. My appointment came through today and it's not until the 30th of May!

Any advice on how to stay sane for the next two weeks?

I did call them and asked to be put onto the cancellation list too. I do hope someone else cancels and I get a call!

I have stopped feeling the lump as much now, I have a feel in the morning and evening to make sure it's still there etc.

But it's such an odd lump, it almost stretches from my areola to my armpit but with a very thick part. So, it almost tails off towards armpit. It's lumpy, hard and immobile. But I am imagining it's far too big to be anything sinister.

My brain is mush! X

I’ll join you on the two week wait. My appointment is 28th May, also for a breast lump. It’s scary isn’t it? I’m trying to keep busy but had a bit of a wobble again this morning. Also keep feeling to see if it’s still there. Staying off Google is difficult - but I wanted to diagnose myself before I go !

Something like 95% of breast lumps turn out to be nothing. I know this because I found one back in February. I freaked out and couldn’t even get a GP appointment for a month! So I paid to see a private GP (best £120 i ever spent) Got a referral to the breast clinic the following day (that was covered by my private health, so I’m surprised yours won’t?) had an examination, mammogram and ultra sound and found it to be a cyst. Also found a cyst in the other breast which I couldn’t feel.
The overwhelming likelihood is that it’s nothing but I completely understand why you are so worried. I only waited one day between GP and clinic and that was bad enough. Can you try again with your private health provider?
And DO NOT google, it scares you shitless and sends you down an awful rabbit hole! The vast, vast majority are nothing sinister xxxx

Yes, I keep feeling mine too today. I was feeling it morning and evening to make sure it was there still as I didn't want to be overreacting or wasting others time!

Mine isn't a lump, well, it is but it's not spherical. It's just a hard mass? So odd.

Thank you! All clear. What a huge relief. They have said it might be from where I have had mastitis a few times in that area; it's like scar tissue! X

That’s great news. You must feel so relieved. Mine is next Tuesday, swinging between optimism - my gut feeling is that it’s nothing much, but “what if?”.
