My friend has leukaemia. I went to her appointment with her this morning. Just a general run of the mill regular appointment (or so she thought) and out of the blue her oncologist said she wondered if it was worth considering a Reduced Intensity transplant.

due to age about five years ago friend was told she couldn’t have a bone marrow transplant.

my friend is now in a bit of a daze, and although the oncologist told us a few things she’s realised since we didn’t actually find out much at all and searching online we couldn’t find a treatment with exactly that name - I know I have it right because at the end I asked her to repeat it and I wrote it down. We can find similar names transplants treatment but not that exact one.

does anyone know anything about it.

we do know it’s for older people and it maybe something new ish.
