Any medics on here that can help me understand how my parent died from leukaemia? They were transfusion dependent- mostly red and sometimes platelets . Parent decided to stop weekly transfusions as would have had to go to twice weekly . Was told they may last a few weeks but actually they died within a week of last transfusion. Did the organs just shut down due to lack of blood ? This happened during Covid so it was all a blur at the time ...
