Repeat fit test

I had a bout of severe diarrhoea a few weeks ago. It came on very suddenly and I’ve never been so glad to work from home as I didn’t even make it to the loo. This went on for over a week (finally understood the phrase “couldn’t trust a fart”) and I was shitting for England. Phoned the doctor who organised a couple of stool samples which of course made everything clear up. Nothing like having to shot in a test tube to clear up
tbe bowels. I wasn’t going to bother but got a text reminded to do them and thought “why turn down a bowel cancer screening?” So took them in a couple of weeks ago.

fucks sake they want to repeat the fit test and initially I was not to worried - maybe I did it wrong .. but I dropped it off yesterday and now I’m fecking terrified

does anyone know a benign (Ha!) reason to repeat this test?

Not an expert, but if your gut was still irritated from whatever caused the diarrhoea, that might have led to an unclear result?

I had a dreadful bout of some kind of food poisoning/norovirus/not sure what many years ago, which was still giving me occasional diarrhoea and bloody mucus weeks later, so much so that I was referred for a colonoscopy to check for ulcerative colitis. By the time that came round I was fine, but I can imagine that it might have flagged something up in a FIT test.
