One: cancer waiting lists were the worst ever in 2023.

Two: King Charles is doing very well after his cancer treatment began.

This is just so unfair. I know it's naive to expect everyone to be treated the same, but it makes me so mad.

Not all cancers are the same. Operations for breast cancer will have a different wait list to lung or bowel, or even eye.

If his cancer (whatever it is) had the longest waits then I agree, but if his cancer had the shortest wait for all then I can't see the problem with it. It has to be like for like otherwise these kind of posts are very inflammatory.

Yes it’s very fucking annoying when his tumour is non cancerous!

What they said wasn’t cancer was his enlarged prostrate. In treating that they discovered he has malignant cancer somewhere else that they haven’t disclosed.

Not all regions are the same. I had investigations recently for a cancer scare which thankfully turned out not to be cancer but I was amazed how quickly I got referrals and appointments and a myriad of really expensive tests. Honestly I do not think I would have expected more if I had gone private or had been the King. My 82 year old MiL has recently also revived incredibly quick treatment. So although the overall wait lists are bad it does not mean that some NHS patients are getting amazing treatment still, but there’s awful inequalities between regions. Basically it’s not just a King v commoner issue.

This is worse and I'm surprised there isn't a thread about it.

Is that for real????

MasterOfNobody · 10/02/2024 06:55

It’s for real that a journalist who has no friendship or close link to the Royal Family, but has made a living from unauthorised biographies and sensationalist articles about them, has said it.

It’s for real that he hopes to cause a stir and get commissioned to say more about it for money.

It’s for real that it ignores the fact that Charles has commenced cancer treatment under the care of a totally conventional cancer specialist.
