Hey there.. i am 36 years old and my sister has just been diagnosed with stage 3 triple negative breast cancer. Myself and my younger sisrer who is 33 have both had a bread exam at the doctors office and both have found lumps in our breasts. We have appointments booked in a fews days to be seen for a mamogram. What are the chances of all 3 sister having it?? Im panicking as i want to be strong enough to support my big sis but now have this on my mind too. Thanks in advance you'll ..

OP, everyone is different. I'm one of 5 sisters. I, my dm and one sister have had BC although not triple negative. The other 3 sisters are checked annually and are fine.

You may have a gene that makes it more likely (but not inevitable). Your medical team may suggest a gene test.

The positive thing is that now you will all be checked regularly, and your younger relatives will also be alerted to the risk.

All you can do is go with the testing regime and let the oncologists and radiographers do their work. Treatment is so much better than it was. Try not to worry, (hard, I know) and wait for the results.

Wishing you all well. x

I'm sorry your sister has had this diagnosis. There is a triple negative group on Facebook when she feels ready for that. I had triple negative breast cancer five years ago. It's good that you are all getting checked. The waiting for results is the worst thing ever though.

If you need any practical help please feel free to message me.
