I'm early 40s and I've been going through a really stressful time recently. My mum's breast cancer has returned 3 years after her mastectomy in her bones so it's stage 4. I have been supporting her through this. Three weeks ago I found a hard area in my right breast just above the nipple. I waited until after Christmas to go to the doctor. I have a referral to the breast clinic for an appointment in 2 weeks. The wait where I am is now 3 weeks. This week I went with my mum to her consultant appointment and she's been told she needs chemo weekly for life. I went round the chemo wards with her all while worrying about my own health as well as hers. It feels so stressful and I'm finding the appointment waiting time really hard. The doctor said mine felt like thickened tissue or it could be a cyst. I feel like it's gone down and it's not as hard above my nipple now it's more if you press hard on the nipple it's deep inside. Both my breasts feel generally achy but the pain is a lot better. I've been having epsom salt baths and I feel like it's helped. Has anyone got any advice about what mine could be or how I can handle the stress with myself and my mum. Sorry for such a long post!
