My dh had a 2ww referral at the beginning of december and had an mri arranged (not physically seen a consultant yet) within a week, but has been given another telephone appointment at the end of Jan. Presumably for results but have been told nothing except he has a telephone appointment, no idea who with, we found out by accident. Also awaiting FIT stool sample results and bloods I think too.
Prior to the referral he had suffered a year of being told he had sciatica and needed to exercise and stretch, as well as thinking he was being routinely food poisoned on basically a weekly basis for a few months. The cramps and loose bowels continue but he doesn't thinking it's food poisoning anymore...
After a complaint to the gp after he asked for more investigation and help and they suggested reducing his painkillers, they arranged an xray and found 2 spinal fractures with no accident to explain them. Mind you the results took 8 weeks and a complaint to PALs to get...
Since the referral he's had vision problems but who should he tell? His gp, or ask the hospital who is looking after him for now that he can tell? He's anxious waiting another 3.5weeks to find out what? That he has cancer? That he doesn't? The mri result? No idea atm, don'tevwn have a consultant or care team (is that a thing?) name.
He's already an anxious type and this has really not helped, understandably. Personally I'm petrified, just a tad below literally not being able to function, because I see how he is on a daily basis.
