Hysterectomy and kidney removal surgery

I've got a date for the surgery.
I still feel overwhelmed and shell shocked.
I must have been doing something wrong because I don't feel at all well informed.
If anyone has been in this situation I'd be grateful for any advice and information.

I've only had a hysterectomy, not kidney removal.

Have you had your pre op?

Hasn't anyone discussed the surgery with you and what to expect? The surgeon?
