That's it really, just feeling it all a bit. Standing peeling carrots - emotional. Peeking apples - emotional.

I've got my scan next week then the doctor will call on my birthday with the results 😭😂 I told him not to but hey ho, I guess it's just another day.

The cancer I've got is called Marginal Zone Lymphoma, it's a B cell blood cancer and the scan is to determine exactly which type I've got. I'll probably need a lymph biopsy and a bone marrow biopsy too.

As a family member said, it could be worse 😭 it's just all new and upsetting but I can't ruin Christmas by being constantly in tears so just gotta keep on keeping on.

Does anyone else have blood cancer? I'm finding the other main thread a bit scary talking about all the other types of cancer there are 😳 mine is slow growing so not acute, my doctor even called it a 'kind' cancer.

Peeling apples, obviously 😆

Hello - I’ve replied on your other thread. I have Myelofibrosis - which is a type of chronic blood cancer. Confirmed through a bone marrow biopsy earlier this year. The time immediately before and after diagnosis was awful emotionally. Be easy on yourself - it’s life changing. How are you doing today?

Thanks for replying 💜 I've got my scan tomorrow and I'm nervous about what they're going to find because my stomach is quite distended 🥴 I think I'll need surgery to remove my spleen so it's all rather a lot.

Watching and waiting must be awful, I don't know how it doesn't taint every aspect of your life, that scares me a bit 😔 I hope you're doing ok x

Hope you get some more answers from your scan tomorrow. Will they try you on medication to shrink spleen first before removing? Enlarged spleen is also a symptom that I have but it’s not massive. It’s totally overwhelming to start with… I likened it to going through the phases of grief…

Oh I've no idea, maybe. I know I'll be having immunotherapy. It's definitely a process to go through!

Oh Op, i really feel for you. I am currently undergoing Chemo for Non Hodgkins Lymphoma Diffuse Cell B. The worst part is I had it 12 years ago and it's reoccured all this time later. My Dr said similar to yours first time round, "If you're going to have cancer Lymphoma is the best cancer to have". They say that because it's one of the most curable cancers which is fantastic news. I am finding it tougher this time around because I was 38 then, now I'm 50. One cycle of chemo was 4 hours then, now it's 10.5. It's natural and normal to feel emotional. Don't beat yourself up. Do you have support from family /friends? The posters on the main cancer thread are lovely but I too avoid it as it can be very overwhelming. I am happy to keep you company on your journey if you want. Sending you a a big hug.

If you don’t mind me asking, please can you tell me about how you got diagnosed with this? I am really concerned about a family member of mine and that not all the right tests are been offered. Thank you x @cloudfree
