Positive FIT test - I like stats and info and I can't find any

I have read that a positive test rarely results in cancer. The percentage is tiny which is reassuring. I'm struggling to find anything more specific, eg, factoring in age, sex, strength of FIT test.

Another question if anyone has experience, is saying someone should stay with you after a colonoscopy medics being cautionary?

DH had a positive it was a flare of IBS. He was sedated for his so someone had to stay with him just in case. Very much view that as your risk if you know how you react.

Did he actually need someone afterwards though? Most people seem to say they recovered quickly.

My FIT test in Feb was 53. I was obviously worried but the doctor said it's very common in many benign conditions but they have to follow it up with a colonoscopy in the rare event it's something more sinister. I was diagnosed with diverticulitis the week after
