Hey so I'm a 23 year old female not breastfeeding and ny son is 10 months old, I have been having severe night sweats for the past 2 or 3 months I wake up so wet that its through onto my duvet no matter the temperature and I noticed a while ago there was a painful lump on my left aerola and it had pus but now it's went down a good bit still there and no more pus is coming from it, then I woke up yesterday with this weird unexplained bruising all over my right boob it's not sore or tender or anything I've rang my gp and she wants to see me first thing tomorrow, my anxiety is through the roof I hope it's nothing bad had anyone ever had these symptoms before I'll ad a pic of the bruises thank you for reading

You're male?

It sounds like possibly an abscess.

Sorry my autocorrect I'm female and the lump and bruising are on different books

I hope everything goes well at the doctor's, OP. Don't be surprised if they send you to the breast clinic - that doesn't mean bad news, it's just that GPs aren't experts in this sort of thing. Flowers

That sounds more like mastitis than cancer OP. Especially with the night sweats - sounds like a fever. Mastitis can happen even when you’re not breastfeeding, although it’s less common. You’ve done the right thing booking a gp appointment. They’ll sort you out. I reckon they’ll give give you antibiotics but I’m not a doctor. If they’re worried about anything further they’ll order more tests and scans. Even if they do send you to the breast clinic, remember that doesn’t mean you definitely have cancer, just that they want more investigations to either figure out what’s going on, or rule out potential diagnoses.

I had something similar. I was given full investigations at the breast clinic - mammogram, ultrasound and needle biopsy

Mine turned out to be incapsulated necrotic cysts, one of which was infected. Basically I had bumped myself and it was a bruise where a skin had formed around it forming a cyst. I got antibiotics for the small infected one but for the really big one (3½cm x 1½ cm) they drained 70ml of fluid and then it just disappeared by itself - I can still feel the remains of it sometimes, it's like a tiny, deflated balloon.

I also have a ten month old and had bruises on my boobs but it's from her constantly leaning/pulling herself up on my chest. Could the bruising be from that? About the lump, could be a cyst/abscess that's causing the night sweats.
