Help please - radioactive after PET scan

Hello, I had a PET scan at 9am today as part of my cancer follow up. The scanner asked me if I'd be around any pregnant women or small children after the scan - I said my 18m old was coming home from nursery after 6pm. She said that was long enough for whatever radioactivity it is to wear off.

Except my son was sent home from nursery at 2pm. I didn't think about the scan at all and have played and cuddled with him all afternoon as he's under the weather.

I have googled but all I can find is the advice to stay away from kids for 6 hours after a scan. I can't find anything to say what the danger is if you haven't done that or if there's anything I need to do now to protect my toddler.

If anyone can advise that would be really helpful, thank you.

The amount of radiation is negligible at 2 pm of your scan was 9am - 6 hours puts it at 3 pm. If you are worried phone and speak to the hospital but I imagine the amount of mSv is very low.

honestly it’s fine - 7 to about 30 mSV tops and you pop will be radioactive by the way - but only a little bit 😂👌
