Had a routine mammogram, they’ve called me back

My results are unclear, so I have been called back for more in depth tests in a couple of days.

Statistically I know it will likely be fine, but I can’t help but worry and think what if, what if.

so what if? If found as a result of a routine mammogram it’s likely to be early stages, I would have thought.

what will happen on the day? Will I get results?

Sorry you are going through this.
You will most likely have another mammogram and/or an ultrasound and then possibly a biopsy if they find something they need to sample. The biopsy is unpleasant but doesn't really hurt.

Results of the biopsy can take a couple of weeks.
Fingers crossed for you.

I had a recall afte4 my first mammogram but it was because my shoulder too far forward and they wanted a better view. Might be something simple like that. If you want company pop over to the Cancer Support thread we understand the hell of waiting!

I had a recall a couple of years ago. Back in for mamogram on bigger machine, physical exam, ultra sound with the breast care nurses/specialists (not sure what their titles are who are brilliant and make you feel really comfortable.

They took results through to consultant who requested a biopsy there and then. The nurses explained what would happen and asked if I had any questions I asked if I could go home!. Biopsy was done with a LA and while on the mamogram machine again (there is a slot they can take it through) and was painless, they put a titanium marker in to mark the spot for future mamograms. I drove home no problem after it.

An appointment was made for a few days later to get the results. They phoned 2 hours before the appointment and told me not to bother coming in as it was all clear. Never saw the consultant.

Hopefully all will be OK for you too, the odds are on your side. The nurses did say most do come back ok after further checks, that is what they are they for.

Good luck, it is a worrying time.

Hi ladies.. but sad that I might be joining . Discovered a large egg shaped lump last week and waiting for my scan. My own doc was away so saw a lovely but incredibly young looking 12 GP instead who said that she was worried it was so bigShock
