Prostap anyone?

Just wondering if anyone has had any experience of these injections? I started yesterday following surgery and was told they would be monthly. They're supposed to induce menopause. I opted for a less invasive surgery - ovary and fallopian tube removal rather than full hysterectomy to avoid being plunged into menopause but now feel as though I should have just gone with that. Has anyone had any experience with these and whether they work overtime or will it be immediate? I didn't really have questions at the time but now have loads and don't see anyone until end of next week.

Yes, I've had Prostap. I'm currently on it, awaiting a hysterectomy. Changes are slow building, over days/weeks instead of hours.

First couple of weeks are a bit rocky because it initially sends your hormones into overdrive. So expect any normal PMS issues you might have, such as unstable mood, spots, sore breasts, IBS, insombia and bladder weakness, and then you may have a heavy bleed.

After that point, everything levels out. So just weather the first few weeks as best you can and judge it from the second month. Are you able to take any add back HRT? Such as Tibolone? Otherwise you may need to contend with menopause symptoms.

Hope it works out!

Thank you so much for your reply that's really reassuring. I'm not able to put in HRT at this point so think I may just have to weather it. I fell down a rabbit hole of natural remedies and diet to manage symptoms however am just going to see what happens. So far things are OK outside of being a bit more tearful than normal but it could be the result of a naff few months catching up on me!
