Camping In Kent

Can anyone recommend a good campsite in Kent. I have been looking online, but it is a bit of a minefield to a novice camper!

Manor Court Farm in Ashurst near Tunbridge Wells. Not a bells-and-whistles campsite but very friendly and nice clean toilet block.

Depends on what you want. If quiet and basic: I'm tempted to keep it quiet, but we're currently camping at Welsummer in Kent, and it's fantastic. Lovely owners, tiny site, basic facilities. Sitting around our campfire in our woodland pitch now. Bliss.

We had breakfast in the garden one morning - all but the baked beans fresh from their garden. Oh, and served under the cherry tree. What more can you ask for?? (I don't think they do that every day, but I asked on our first morning as was too lazy, and the owner couldn't be friendlier, went off to cook us some.)

Thank goodness... I was desperately trying to remember the name of Welsummer after you recommended it before, but couldn't get further than W... -- I hoped you'd see this thread

Tanner Farm near Marden, Kent is a 5 star site. It's beautifully quiet and the pitches are well spaced. I've never seen such clean toilet & shower blocks either.

I doubt whether we'd ever be so lucky again, but I also liked Forgewood near Tunbridge Wells, where we had the field at the back of the woods all to ourselves. I wouldn't have liked the front field that much, but probably just me and my seclusion issues... Good reviews when I looked.

If you have kids- and dont mind it being a bit busy- ~(but not haven)-try two chimneys?

Not basic camping but v clean with small pool/bar, my DS (then 2) loved it. Lots of kids to play with, nice play area, and at night all the kids zoomed about playing with glo in dark balls & stuff. Most of the regular tents have day glo stuff on too- which makes it really pretty at night when you are having your wine!

You could get bacon sarnie in the morning from a little cafe and was v close to sandy beaches like Broadstairs, Botany Bay etc. Close tro Canterbury too.

Wellsummer sounds lovely too tho!
