I'm going to whip up some bunting for our bell tent this afternoon, before we take it camping tomorrow

Can someone (Riven I hope!) tell me how long their bell tent bunting is and how big the triangles are? Please?

this bunting - scroll down a bit is 8m long.

Am thinking of making some myself, but I haven't got any scraps. Have you bought fabric, or are you using scraps?

I used scraps, JohnPeel - 20cm along the top of each triangle, 30cm long edges. I did just over 8m in the end, but I think I'll add to it at some point to make it go all the way around the tent - it only does the front half at the moment, but it looks fantastic. Will post a photo when we get back from our trip

Oh dear god. I am trying really hard to supress my unge to be a glamper and join you lot.

I have bunting. I fear my reputation will be ruined if I ever took it camping though.

overmydeadbody · 04/07/2010 16:25

I even have mini bunting in Amy Butler fabrics

Slubberdegullion · 04/07/2010 17:12

omdb you could NEVER call yourself a minimalist again.

You'd have to join bunters anonymous.

Lucycat · 04/07/2010 17:15

Nooooo no no no bunting - why would you? seriously? is it not enough to garotte yourself on a tarp guyrope but you want to ensnare small creatures in bunting!

Slubberdegullion · 04/07/2010 18:16

quite right Lucy.

Fire & entanglement risk

MollieO · 04/07/2010 18:30

JohnPeel love the link. Forget about bunting I just don't know how I've managed camping without a drystone wall windbreak .

overmydeadbody · 04/07/2010 19:23

Slubber I promise I have never ever ever taken my bunting camping.

Slubberdegullion · 05/07/2010 09:23

good

Lucycat · 05/07/2010 18:14

so omdb where do you use your bunting?

Slubberdegullion · 06/07/2010 10:08

I bet there is a room in omdb's house that is her repressed id's reaction to all the minimalism. It's full of bunting, fairy lights, big fluffy cushions and several washing up bowls. It has a big padlock on the door and she guiltily sneaks in there of an evening to eat ginsters cornish pasties and drink vimto.
