I am fairly new to camping and haven't camped in England before. Could anyone tell me do many campsites in England allow charcoal BBQ's? I have looked at loads of sites but they don't mention it either way, Thank you.

In my experience, most allow them but they have to be raised off the ground (and most supply bricks for you to do this). The only one I've stayed at that didn't allow them was a forestry commission one, but it had a separate area with bbqs that you could use.

Agree with tikka

You can also buy little metal frmaes for disposable bbqs that raise them up if bricks not provided.

genertally I think the rule is yes as long as raised and you accept that in hot spells they may be banned due to a risk of fires: for which reaosn I woudl always take an alternative, but myself have camped merri;ly with DH and 3 kids and a single burner sdtove so thats all you need (should admit to a Cobb these days LOL before I get undeserved Proper camper points )
