Which one is good to go for? I know obviously synthetic ones are cheaper but I was wondering what people on here tend to have?

I would love a down one, but have not been able to justify the cost/warmth ratio.

Don't know which is best as I'm allergic to feathers so have to have synthetic.

All I would say is buy decent , adult sleeping bags for children as they will get plenty of use.
I first bought DS1 a sleeping bag for cub camp when he was 8. Since then it has been used several times at cubs/scouts, on 3 school trips and countless sleepovers. He is 14 now and 6'2" and it's still ok for him.
