Awnings

Dh and I are seriously thinking about buying a touring caravan for next year. We're thinking we'll buy a 4 berth caravan as it'll generally just be dh, dd and me but we also want to be able to invite 2-3 friends or family members to join us for short periods e.g. an occasional weekend. Would it be realistic to think of having an airbed in an awning to extend the sleeping capacity?

you will need more than an airbed as they are quite drafty. you can buy an inner tent which just hooks inside and they are really cheap on ebay

Yes we used to have an inner tent in ours which we all argued over as it meant escaping my dad's snoring.
Wouldn't have liked to sleep in the awning without it though.

my Dd2 and her friend slept in a small popup tent in the friends parents awning at easter, they were fine. cheaper than an awning inner too apparently.

Of course! Goes to show we're new at this lark. It never occurred to me that there would be inner tents for awnings. Thanks all.
