We've never been to either the lake or peak districts and fancy taking DS1(10) and DS2(12 wks) camping there. Can anybody recommend a good campsite???

we stayed at church stile campsite, nether wasdale and loved it; small, peaceful even with/for families; good showers (only 2 but never queued); see their website but I'm very happy to recommend it

Fisherground in Eskdale is wonderful - very child friendly, open fires allowed, clean bathrooms, beautiful views, walking distance to lovely pubs and there is even a station stop for the 'Ratty' steam railway on the edge of the site! loved it there.

There are a few National Trust campsites in the lakes which are great as well - one of them, Low Wray, is on the edge of Windermere so good for access to watersports, boat trips etc.
