I've been looking at the Forest Holidays brochure, thinking about going for a long weekend. Probably to Beddgelert, or maybe Forest of Dean.

Has anyone been? Is it any good? Honest opinions please!

Hi,
We've only been to Spiers House in North Yorkshire.

The sites are quite pricey but the facilities at Spiers House were great, pitches a good size and the setting was lovely but a bit of a nightmare because of the midges!

Thanks.

Have booked Beddgelert for the first weekend of the summer hols, it wasn't as expensive as I thought it might be.

Just hope it isn't raining...

For future Christchurch in the forest of dean is nice if you have kids, there were millions of them there last summer when we did a short break, great for my daughter who loves to mix but is rubbish at it, she just followed the crowd around and had a great time. Make sure you take bikes, scooters or something similar.
It's pitch where you like and toilets and showers dotted around. We liked it and would go again.

I know loads of people who love Beddgelert so have grand plans to go there soon too.

i've been to hollands wood it was brilliant. DD loved looking at the horses and cows - space (even on the weekend) - just as well as DS decided to scream raher than sleep on the first night....

although they really mean it when they say don't keep food in your tent - the horses will just go in a and get.

would definitely go again.
