I use a 5 litre water bottle from supermarket for drinking - 79p bargain

It will lessen. In the meantime, if you're as old as me you can relive the taste and smell of a 70's childhood and tupperware drinking beakers (without the split-lip from drinking without taking the lid off).

I remember watching a rather charming 'handy hints' video short by senior members of the camping and caravan club. Steradent denture cleaning tablets are just the thing apparently - at least if you prefer the slight taint of chlorine bleach and peppermint!

Put some bicabonate of soda in and fill it up (amount depends on size of container, I just shook a good bit in!). Leave to stand for an hour or so and then do the same again. Give it a few good wash outs with plain fresh water and you should be sorted.
