camping next weekend?

Anyone else considering packing up the tent and going camping next weekend? Has been lovely during the daytime but am concerned that it is going to be very cold at night. We have not been this early in the season before I don't think. Need to make a decision really whether to go or not so can start digging stuff out during the week but can't decide.

possibly, if I'm up to it. will be a last minute decision.

Yes we are, Derbyshire. Taking extra wool blankets and thermals to sleep in, basically, if needed. We will be OK as long as it doesn't chuck it down with rain!

If you get some Seam Grip you can mend your tent, garden, I glued/patched a rip in ours yesterday and it looks pretty watertight now.

we went last weekend, look at the thread "how cold is too cold?". Definitely take hot water bottles, and anyone with asthma should not really consider it - the air is too damp/cold.

Have fun!

where is good to buy a cheapish tent (not top of range) for DP and I and a three year old?

We are going camping this weekend with some friends, and have borrowed a tent but it stinks and I am not sleeping in it

We're going camping this weekend, up the Brecon Beacons. Am very excited, first time we've been this year and I have very itchy feet for camping!

tootootired · 27/04/2010 12:41

only wants one - try Go Outdoors or Decathlon for cheap but decent camping gear. To avoid a stinky tent, don't put it away damp!

Weekend after- don't like uber busy bank hols too much when camping

Excited though

We went twice over the Easter Holidays and are going again this weekend. We cheated at one site and had electric hook up so we could have a heater and electric blankets in the tent but at the other we didn't and it rained and was windy all night and the temperature was 3 degrees but we still had a great time. This weekend, we will be without electricity again and can't wait to get back in the tent!

We are supposed to be going to Escot Park near Ottery St Mary in the campervan but the weather forecast is crap and it's a basic site, so may well postpone!
