So, there will be my family of 5 (me, dh, ds 11, ds 8 and dd 4), another family of 4 (parents plus their ds's aged 8 and 6) plus final family of 4 (parents plus ds's aged 8 and 5).

We need something within a couple of hours tops from Bristol (Dorset, Devon, Wales whatever).

Would prefer quieter so no bingo, bars etc. just nice facilities and space for the kids to charge about (beach or forest or something would be good).

A lot of sites seem a little anti groups but I really need to find something to ensure that they don't hate me for suggesting camping in the first place!

Any ideas?

River Dart Country Park here

It has loads of woods for the kids to charge about. There is a shop and cafe but not rowdy. There are loads of activities. All the people we met there were really nice.

Forest of Dean, near Coleford, can't remember the name but its run by Forest Holidays.

Hi, we live in Bristol and have been here a couple of times www.ruthernvalley.com/ It is lovely, with plenty of places for kids to play but also doesn't do bingo etc. You can even have a campfire! It takes about 2 hours or so, I think.
In fact we are planning on taking our newborn down there for his/her inaugural camping trip in July!

Oh brilliant, thanks Oranges. I had found that one online but it is great to hear from someone who has been there - it looks really nice.
