OK we just came back from Breck Farm in Norfolk, which was perfect for us. So we are on the look out for other places around the country of similar price and site. We want to be able to go away most school hols so £30 plus a night is a no no. Wondered if anyone had any ideas please? Don't need them for south west though, but anywhere else pretty much in UK

Ooo, I've just emailed them to book for end of April - how was it??

And am at your multiple trip plans - I'm just weighing up career changing into teaching and apart from doing something worthy for a living, the main benefit looks to me to be the ability to spend all summer under canvas. Well, once I career change and get a bell tent anyway

well we loved it. It is basic so much as there are no posh facilities and club and "play areas" but that's what we liked, plus the price is superb, check others out in area! We liked that it's one price bit extra for hook up and that's it. You can go anywhere you like as LOADS of space, new toilet/shower block is semi open, looks like there will be more showers and to be painted yet, but loads of loos. It is a working farm so can get a bit muddy when it rains - but only round the edges

The people are very friendly and laid back. We booked online but they didn't want a deposit. When we got there he said ah as long as you pay before you leave don't worry about it! We paid today and bought 18 eggs and massive sack of spuds for a fiver.(plus fees lol) Showers are tokens (50p but maybe you will need 2? I didn't use the new ones) we used older ones and they are a £1 coin.

If you want loads of facilities as in parks for kids and stuff then no, but we don't want that and the price is perfect. The two nearest sites to Breck farm would have cost us av £33 a night for 2 adults and a 2 year old with hook up and awning. We just can't afford that, we bought a cheapish good older caravan for many cheapish hols. 10 nights away at those prices is mighty expensive! DH is a teacher and yes, that is the upside the long hols........I won't list the downsides for you
