Have looked at many on the web but it is quite difficult to differentiate between them all -similar prices, pools look nice etc etc.. Anyone with first hand experience.
2 weeks in August - 2 families with an 8,4,2 and 1 year old between us.
Thanks in advance.

glencote caravan park in leek staffs. It is next to an old steam train railway which does special trips for children. It has a fishing pond and some wonderful walks along the canal and river. There are some lovely country pubs with good pub grub along the canal too and the village is lovely for shopping.

st jean de monts is a really lovely area.

we went with keycamp - but the site itself was a Haven!! thee were two camsites - a quiet one and across the road the noisy one with the bar.

we were on the quiet one - but both seemed nice

now after that description - i can't remember what they were called sorry there was a little train that took passengers into st jean de monts, the beach is amaing with lots of kids activities and inflatable jumpy things and we hired one of those cycles that look like a car - for 5 people and peddled up and don the sea front - great holiday

Clarys Plage is popular. We stayed at Les Genets, next door, but this one is a nicer site (although Les Genets had a more fun pool). Both are walkable to the beach & local shops, restaurants etc.

Enjoyed Acapulco, which IIRC is on the same road as Clarys Plage. It's a bit smaller and low-key, with fewer British families. Pool is good for your DC's ages. The water slides (fairly tame) are just behind the toddler pool, so you can easily keep an eye on all of them.

Check out Puy du Fou theme park. The 8yo would love it.

i second fox's comments about puy du fou. my lot moaned about going but was highlight of the hol once there - despite the queues. fireworks in the evening are suppossed to be amazing - but we didn't have the energy
