After months of research and searching, the only tent I really like the look of it the Gelert Horizon 8. Went to buy it and just found out that its over 21 foot which means a lot of campsites, including the ones we were planning to go to this year, wont allow it. .

I am tempted to just get the Horizon 6 which is the same tent but smaller. The tent overall is big enough as there is just 4 of us BUT I liked the idea of being able to all be in one big bedroom, but have the option to split up if needed. The DDs are both young (DD1 is 2 and DD2 is 8 months) so will be 1 and 2 when we go.
The horizon 6 has 2x 3man rooms. Which would mean either putting the kids in a room away from us, which I feel they are too young for and I think I would worry all night that somebody would come and take them . Or splitting me and DH up so we have a DD each. It would however mean that I could have space to put DD2 in a travelcot with DH and me and DD1 share the other bedroom on an inflatable bed and her ready bed.

What does everybody think? Our budget is £250 ish but the cheaper the better as we are borrowing the money. We need a Sewn in groundsheet and something that will cope with rain etc. We want plenty of space as we will be going for 2 weeks at a time.

Would be REALLY grateful of any help!

We have this one www.outwell.dk/TentMeasure.aspx?b=Outwell&bid=2&lid=1&l=en-GB&catID=251&TentId=605&pid=1

I t has a 2 man and a 3 man berth, which can be made into one, by opening up zips, so would meet your requirements.

The living area is nice and big, and the colour of the tent means that you're not sitting in some purple gloom on a rainy day, but have a prety natural daylight around you.

Thanks.

I ended up getting the Gelert Horizon 6, which does still break the size limit but I got it for £75 including the extra canapy, which would have been £80 on its own . It is used, but only once and free delivery so that worked out pretty good. So will just have to go to a campsite that accepts it. Its not huge so should be OK.
