Can anybody recommend campsite in Forest of Dean for Easter?

We're very keen to get away but don't really know any campsites outside Cornwall. We're based in London and my mother in Wiltshire so thought the Forest of Dean sounded good. Can anybody recommend a campsite? We don't want one with "entertainment" or anything, just clean showers, not too crowded, somewhere to get milk from and maybe a swing or a slide for our children, 2 and 3.

Any recommendations or tips will be much appreciated, thank you!

Or maybe the Cotswolds?

Forest Holidays campsites areprobably the ones you want, either Christchurch or Bracelands- just google them

Have been to both Christchurch and Bracelands and both are brilliant. Christchurch is closer to the shop and has a playground on site, but Bracelands has the better views.

ooh its weird tehre

I find Christchurch too crowded/regimented rows etc. Bracelands has loads of space and amazing views (but is expensive now), but no playground.

We have weekends at Henley which has a nice site at Swiss Farm. You have to drive through the caravans & motorhomes but the tents have free pitching on large fields with great view. There is a playground and swimming pool, and only a 10-15 min walk to centre of Henley (or 5 mins if just want the Thames to wander along).

If you're also considering the Cotswolds, can I suggest this place which is sort of between Burford & Bourton on the Water. Lovely well organised site, nice walks, farm animals, homemade cakes in the shop and the cleanest bathrooms I've ever seen on a campsite (and we stayed in torrential rain and mud!)

In this months Camping magazine I'm sure there is a review of the Forest of Dean -

there'e one I fancied last year - nr symonds yat - Dowards Park, I think it is, it looks lovely, small and friendly .

Must remember to book it early this year!

We camped last Easter in sunny but cold north Devon nr Lynton.

This year we're trying to find somewhere for summer in Spain - any recomendations??
