Pop up tents are quite big aren't they?

Ordered a bargain and it arrived today. Didn't really realise quite how big they are when packed up.

How easy are they to fold up? I bought it for quick overnight camping trips but I'm concerned that it may actually be a bit of a beast to pack away. It is an Outwell Alderney if that makes any difference like this one.

They are a doddle to fold up. You just need to practice a few times in the privacy of your own home or garden.

Yes they are quite big in diameter, but they are super flat. I just bung em in the boot and lump the other stuff on top of them.

The only major down side as far as I can see, is that you have to pop them up at home to dry them (if you pack a way when they are wet). My kichen was a vision of outwell sage a couple of weeks ago.

Not sure that anywhere in my car will accommodate something quite so circular! Am currently debating whether it will wedge in the parcel shelf and back of the seat/roof! I will try putting the roof down and see whether I can pack it and then put the roof up. Also think it is a bit too big to fit on the new boot rack I'm waiting for delivery of. If not then grandma may have to be carless on the weekends we want to use it .

Where do you store yours Slubber? I'm hoping to find room in the understairs cupboard as there is no way I can squeeze it into the loft!

We hang ours on a big hook on the shed wall - they are rather wide though I admit - ours just go on the top of the boot as they are the first things out.

The trick with packing them up is to ahve a quick read of the instructions every time - ours are from two different years, hence 2 different folding methods then be firm.

I have a cupboard in the eaves where I put mine. I would love to put mine on the top of the stuff (makes more sense than on the bottom) but the curvature of the boot door disallows it. Its irksome indeed.

The best bit is folding them up when you know how. I try now to arrange it so I have a bit of an audience (you know, folk eating their breakfast or walking to the loo, not a sat down audience) and then I fold it down all nonchalant like, whilst doing something else, like a spot of loud parenting or asking dh for a final depature cup of tea.

The waves of smugness roll from me.

I'm sure you'll find a way Mollie. What about lots of those bungee strap things, can you afix it somehow with those?

I will experiment after ds has gone to bed and less chance of an audience of neighbours! I am not lacking in strapping devices (job lot bargain purchase from Argos today rather than some weird hobby ).

How long did it take you to master the folding? Do I need to set aside a morning ?
